Gone fishing
John Scrutton

John is the grandson of legendary Woolwonga woman, Nellie Flynne, who lived to be more than 100 years old. He grew up on the outskirts of Batchelor with a windmill and no electricity. After his 18th birthday, John joined the air force and ended up serving in Malaysia during the Vietnam War. Military life took its toll, but it wasn't until John was much older working a security job in Perth, that the stories came tumbling out...

John told his story live on Tuesday 14 August 2018 at SPUN at Darwin Festival where the theme was POWER.
