The dangerous journey home...
Jose Da Costa

Jose Da Costa was born during the violent occupation of East Timor and spent his first years in the jungle, hiding from the Indonesian army with his family. Home was a village in Bacau, but it was also a place of deep tragedy for the young Jose. But it wasn’t until he found himself the target of the military, that Jose was forced to take the biggest risk of his life to tell the world what was happening in his homeland.

Jose told his story live on Tuesday 22 August 2017 at SPUN at Darwin Festival themed 'Home'.
